I wrote a couple of articles over at NerdPerfect (after a long absence). They are mainly of a techie-dork substance, so I didn’t feel justified in putting them here. So, here’s some links:
You Can’t Polish a Turd, But You Can Release Nice Screen Shots of It
The Story of Ping -or- How the Internet Keeps a Joke Alive
Flix – Video to Flash, Reviewed by Wonko
Okay, so the last one is a bit of mindless link propagation (MLP for short), but give ‘em a read if you wanna. Enjoy!

All of this “serious” media about the election brouhaha is really making me bored. Sorta like when you stare into a television screen filled with static for too long. Not that I do that often, but you get the idea.
Well, I offer to you, gentle reader, some alternatives. First up, we have the always funny Onion with their complete coverage of the election mayhem (which, is aptly titled Mayhem 2000!). My personal favorite article: Bush Executes 253 New Mexico Democrats, Retakes States Five Electoral Votes.
Next on this cavalcade of comedic cacophony is Comedy Central‘s Indecision 2000. Plenty of good clips (including my fave, the Daily Show). Plenty of RealMedia clips, too.
Last, but not least is BBSpot, while smaller than the Onion, and without a scheduled publishing date, BBSpot still manages to come up with some seriously funny stuff. As evidenced in this article about a Hispanic man, the election, and an unfortunate name change.

The Funky Flynn wrote in about the “I Look Like My Dog Contest“, to quote the Flynn “Ah, the inhumanity …”

So, you want burgers with ultra-stealthy delivery? Well, i’ve got NinjaBurger for you. Now, they claim that they don’t server Fortune Cookies with their meals as “Fortune Cookie is Chinese. Stupid Gaijin”, however Kung-Fu Grip is most certainly of mainland Asiatic origin. Hmm. Oh, by the way, all the burgers are soy burgers.

Oy! Gary has raved and raved about Daily Radar for quite some time (to quote: “i LOVE daily radar”), and I check it now and then, but today i got into review their archives. HOLY SHNIKES! There are some truly hilarious bits in there. For instance: How To Survive a Bear Attack While Parachuting, their entire “Violence Week”, my personal fave, “Dude Your Mom is Hot Week”.
Each week, a different theme, like this week’s Cartoon Week, with plenty of Top-10 lists to boot!

Don’t call it a comeback, but The Onion, America’s Finest News Source, has a NEW Herbert Kornfeld Editorial up titled What Y’all Heard About Tha CPA Convention Be LIES. For those of you unaware of Mr. Kornfeld’s editorial genious, check out pasts nuggets like West-Wing Tech-Support Crew Be A Buncha Wack Bitches, and a personal favorite, Tha Autobiography Of Herbert K.

What happens when you mix kids toys, grandma’s recipes, and a 20,000 V power supply? Well, you guessed right if you guessed either Cooking with High Voltage, High-Voltage Stress Testing of Computer Equipment, or my personal favorite, Furby Stress Testing.
Whew! That’s a lot of voltage, and a lot of charred remains. The greatest thing are the Quicktime movies of the carnage! (Check out the Jacob’s Ladder Shish-kabobs).

Well, the journey begins! Hunter and Gary have set off on their summer tour. (Leg 1 for Gary, Leg 2 is in Japan). Some hilarious posts so far. Pictures are forthcoming. The site, at Gary’s BlandPlanet is here. WARNING: if you go to the BlandPlanet site, wait for the background to load.

The Darwin Awards has a brand new site. And let me tell you, it looks good. If you had ever seen the earlier versions of the VARIOUS Darwin Awards sites, they were hideous. The new site, though. Gorgeous.

Well, here is the next best thing, BBSpot.com. It’s simple, yet sophisticatedly funny like the Onion, but DAILY! How wonderful. Here is a good example of their funny. Also, this one is good as well. Check them out!
